This course will address the nursing care of long-term care residents with different types of feeding tubes, the various methods of delivery, common formulas in use, common complications and ways to avoid or minimize complications.  It will also assist nursing home administrators in determining the appropriate number of residents with feeding tubes in their facility and how to staff accordingly.  Documentation requirements and staff competency guidelines will be discussed.
